Atlanta Botanical Garden’s SUPER BLOOM is a huge springtime event featuring thousands of colorful blooming flowers of all different shapes and sizes. It is celebrating the Garden’s 50th anniversary. The array and display of flowers is stunning, with over 140,000 different flowers in bloom. The display is located in the Great Garden, and because it hasn’t been renovated in more than a decade, the opportunity to transform the Lawn was huge. This event is occurring from March 1st to April 30th.
This event was so important and impressive for the Gardens. This was a one-time spectacle that the Garden used to celebrate the 50-year anniversary. The extensive display of flowers on the front lawn was not only impressive but was actually doubling the normal amount of buds and flowers usually shown in the gardens. The flowers were a huge canvas of color for the lawn and drew in many, many people coming to see this amazing sight.
The array of plant life on display during the Super Bloom is miraculous. Many types of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, crocuses, and some perennial bulbs. The colors span from yellow to pink and so many other colors. The flowers are known for their vibrancy.
When looking for people who are involved in this event, the one of the people interviewed was my close neighbor. I chose my neighbor to be interviewed because she has a yearly membership with the Botanical Gardens. When asked the question of why she thinks it is worth it to go see the Super Blooms, she said.
“ It is such a beautiful display of nature and flowers. All the colors are so vibrant, and it reminds you that Summer is coming. It’s nice to get outside sometimes to admire the beauty of the world.”
What makes going to this place worth i,t and why should everyone go? “ The array of flowers presented at this place is just something that you really only experience once in your life. Flowers are some of the most naturally beautiful things on this earth. If you are like me someone who loves flowers, it is totally worth it to go. ”
My neighbor also talked about how the company that she works for sometimes has events at the Garden, so she is pretty familiar with it. She got his membership last year and has gone many times.
I also connected with a volunteer at the Gardens while looking for someone else to interview. The questions were specifically about the Super Bloom event. When being interviewed about what she does during , she said
“I am a Garden Essential Maintenance, and basically, what that means is that Ii help to maintain the garden. I help to pull the weeds and help water the plants and the flowers. I mostly work with the outside gardens; the inside gardens are maintained by other people. I go to volunteer on Thursday mornings from 9 to noon. My husband travels for work pretty often, so that’s something I like to do by myself. ”
When asked about the SUPER Blooms and what she thought about them, she said, “Yes, yes, the experience of getting to see them for the first time is incredible. The colors just pop out at you, and it is so spectacular. I have helped to help maintain these flowers, but there are so many that there were extra volunteers to help us. If you have the chance, it is so worth it to go and look at the flowers. It’s like once in a lifetime, and it’s pretty local too! ”
