Known for not just for what she did while playing but, also for her coaching, winning, and eye catching game day outfits, Coach Kim Mulkey never disappoints. Mulkey was born in Santa Ana, California on May 17th of 1962. Mulkey handling her business in her playing career also, winning two titles at Louisana Tech. Playing point guard for the Bulldogs, Mulkey made a name for herself. She even won gold at the 1984 Olympics. Mulkey was the first coach in history to win a national title as a player, assistant coach, and head coach.
Kim Mulkey helped Baylor form into a dominate program in the Big 12 conference. The Baylor Bears won the conference title every year from 2011 to 2020. Mulkey helped the Bears become a household name and they were storming threw competition. She obtained 3 national titles before depaturing from Baylor.
April 2021, Mulkey returned to Louisana, but this time to be head coach of Lousiana State University. Mulkey carried her winning ways to LSU. Winning a national title in her second year in this new coaching position. Currently, LSU is known as one of the best women basketball programs at the collegiate level.
Kim Mulkey was the first coach in history to hit 600 wins. Though her coaching career is not over her work is still noticed. In 2020, Mulkey was entered into Basketball Hall of Fame. Mulkey is not done yet and is looking forward to adding some more titles under her name.
