The Georgia Bulldogs leave Athens and all their other fan thrilled after bringing back another SEC (The Southeastern Conference) Championship on Saturday, December 6th, after travelling to their capital, the city of Atlanta, Georgia, to play in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. UGA rallied together a 28-7 victory over number 9-ranked Alabama. The Bulldogs didn’t take their foot off the gas as they punched home a touchdown in every quarter.
Let’s dive into some key plays that helped bring home this victory for the Georgia Bulldogs. Gunner Stockton (Georgia’s Quarterback #14) came to play, leading his guys down the field and scoring a quick touchdown with a 1-yard pass to Roderick Robinson II (Georgia’s Running Back #0) with 4:36 left in the first quarter. Defense came to play too, with Daylen Everette (Georgia’s Defensive Back #6) snagging an interception and adding a 30-yard gain. Gunner Stockton struck again before the half was over with a 5-yard pass to Dillon Bell (Georgia’s Wide Receiver #86) for a touchdown with about 8:43 till halftime. Out of halftime, Nate Frazier (Georgia’s Running Back #3) punched in one of his own from 9 yards to make it 21-0 with 10:47 left to play. The Georgia Defense bundled together sacks, interceptions, and pass breakups to hold Alabama scoreless till the 4th quarter. Gunner Stockton was done yet with one last touchdown in the 4th quarter to Zachariah Branch (Georgia’s Wide Receiver #1) to make it 28-7 late in the 4th.
Georgia’s game in totality was great, finishing with 156 passing yards and 141 rushing yards. Gunner Stockon kept the team fired up, leading them down the field time and time again for easy touchdowns. UGA now holds on to 16 SEC Championships and is on the way to compete for a National Championship.
